This is part two of Lisa and Neil’s gorgeous wedding. Here’s the nitty gritty details about this fun event…

1. They love to travel so their tables were named after some of their favorite spots.
2. Instead of a first dance, they sang a ‘first song.’ This unique twist had their guests in tears. So beautiful.
3. They had a biscuit bar and you could roast smores as a dessert!
4. When they did the Hora, EVERY SINGLE GUEST was on the dance floor.
5. Steel Toe Stiletto Band rocked the house.

We are over the moon about the caliber of your photos! You managed to capture all of my friend’s and family’s emotions in the matter of a split second and we get to keep these moments forever! I am eternally grateful and blessed to have these photos as a keepsake of the best weekend of my life!

The Ridge in Marshall, NC had the perfect breath-taking views for Lisa and Neil’s gorgeous wedding.
Things I know I’ll never forget…

1. They asked for NO FORMAL photos. That’s right, no posed portraits. Instead, I captured moments as they happened organically throughout their day. I will never forget the freedom this allowed for my creativity. Thank you Lisa and Neil.
2. They had special toasts with their immediate family before their guests arrived. Everyone was able to connect and relax before the busyness of the day really started.
3. There was lavender everywhere. Since I’m a huge fan of lavender & essential oils, I felt right at home.
4. This wedding was all about bonds.  Their friendships were so evident and authentic. They had no wedding party because their entire guest list would have been considered.
5. Instead of family photos, they opted to hang with their family and friends at the cocktail hour. The hugs from this time frame may have been my favorite part of the day.

It’s that moment that you’re ‘revealed’ to your friends who have waited patiently to see you as a bride.

First sight BLISS. The suspense was awesome.

I look forward to sharing their stunning reception images from The Venue soon. Stay tuned.

This fabulous couple was married at the scenic Crest Pavilion. Things I loved about their wedding…

1. Holly surprised John with an awesome album of boudoir photos. He was floored and said it was the best gift he had ever received!
2. They passed their rings around to each guest in a sweet little wooden box during the ceremony to have people bless and pray for them.
3. I spent time with the couple in downtown Asheville before we went to Crest. It was fun and we had time to get some cool shots before they went down the aisle. Asheville offers so much!
4. The little details as well as Krispy Cream donuts for the guest favors really added a sweet touch!
5. The bond with the bride and groom and their friends was so fun to see on the dance floor!

I’m still coming down off the high from teaching at my photography workshop at the Biltmore Estate when I revealed every wedding photography tip and trick I know. The students were awesome and we bonded over 3 days of intense learning. On day two, we covered natural and off camera lighting with Profoto as well as posing and composition techniques. I truly have a passion for helping others learn with their own style as a priority when shooting.

I was thankful for our team of pros including our fabulous models, Sara Fields and her soon-to-be hubby Nathan.
