As part of a personal and business goal in 2017, I am taking a refreshed approach: Living with thoughtful intent about what I do in my spare time. Photographing simple, common things makes me feel grateful as well as pushes me artistically. Documenting beauty in the every day truly makes me happy and helps me slow down in this crazy busy time in our lives.

I’m getting caught up on blog posts and had to share this Little Switzerland wedding. Emily and Hunter were great to work with. Some of my favorite things about this event…

1. They used ferns and orchids! I loved how organic things looked and it was fun to photograph all of the green!
2. Their custom signage was over the top. Check out how they incorporated their dogs into the signature cocktail menu.
3. Emily gave the funniest toast I have ever heard. She had her guests rolling. I think she’s secretly a comedian.
4. The mountain views at sunset were some of the best I’d ever seen.
5. First time I’ve ever seen edible confetti thrown at the end of the night. Not only was it tasty, but the colors made for a fun photographs.

Emily was so happy with her planner, Sara Fields with Wedding Connections. It’s always awesome to see our client’s vision is realized by someone who really takes care of every little detail.

Jessica and Raj had this engagement session at Biltmore scheduled for over 6 months now. When they thought about what they wanted for their session, they said they hoped for snow to offer something a little different. Little did we know that the ONLY snow we’ve had all winter just so happened to be on this special weekend! I drove this couple in 4 wheel drive all over the estate for this awesome session. They were super sweet and I couldn’t be happier about photographing their wedding at Biltmore in the fall.

By looking at the images from this beautiful Biltmore wedding, you can’t tell that it was about 17 degrees! Marlee and Jim, as well as their wedding party, were troopers. Things I loved about this event…

1. The winter decor was truly gorgeous. From the crisp white, to the pinecone accents, I really love the ‘clean beauty’ of this event.
2. Marlee and I use the same perfume. She had sweet details that were fun to photograph.
3. I almost cried with the bride read the letter Jim wrote to her before the ceremony. Seeing the tears stream down her face brought their love to the forefront of this moment.

Stay tuned for Part Two and one AWESOME reception!
