I’m still coming down off the high from teaching at my photography workshop at the Biltmore Estate when I revealed every wedding photography tip and trick I know. The students were awesome and we bonded over 3 days of intense learning. On day two, we covered natural and off camera lighting with Profoto as well as posing and composition techniques. I truly have a passion for helping others learn with their own style as a priority when shooting.

I was thankful for our team of pros including our fabulous models, Sara Fields and her soon-to-be hubby Nathan.

For many years I have dreamt of having a workshop for photographers to reveal my tips from the last 14 years of documenting my client’s lives. My vision became real on March 19-22 at the Biltmore Estate when I hosted Revealed, The Wedding Workshop. From my business practices to marketing/how to get published, we covered it all in this 3 day small group intensive. Lightroom guru, Jared Platt, was a guest speaker to deliver the latest in Lightroom techniques as well as Profoto Lighting. Getting to know these photographers and customizing their education to suit what they needed was a highlight for me. Teaching how to shoot details with this creative set up was a thrill and I can’t wait to see how their business grow.

Lynn, with Appear Photography, wrote this after experiencing Revealed…

“I can’t say enough great things about The Revealed workshop!!! I have attended several different workshops around the country and also larger photographer gatherings like WPPI and I have never been a part of a more hands on and personable workshop. Revealed was the perfect size so that every person received attention from both our hosts and with their distinct style differences you are able to learn a great deal and even have the opportunity to gravitate more toward one over the other if you desire to do so. This part was really nice while shooting because if you know your strengths and weaknesses then you can focus more on what you need to learn instead of listening to things you already know. If you are in need of both sides you could easily move from one group to another. There was never a power struggle between the two teachers as I have seen with other workshops that have more than one person teaching. Jill and Jared worked seamlessly together and I would take the workshop again just because I know there are more things that both can teach me about shooting, post production and just how to run a business in general. The only downside to this is that it was not long enough! I would have loved to have one more afternoon of shooting but if that were the case I would have needed another afternoon to replace the great classes on Lightroom and basics that we all need reminding about no matter what our skill set is because everything is always changing and if you don’t keep up you get left behind! Thanks again for hosting the best workshop I have every attended!”

Asheville Event Co worked with Floresscence to create the gorgeous details for our styled shoot. The custom place settings, silverware and glassware in the rose quartz theme really made these details unique. The Inn on Biltmore provided the perfect mountain backdrop for us. The effort and attention to every last detail was covered so beautifully by this creative team. I am thankful to have their partnership and love working with them!

Part of what I loved about hosting this workshop was ability to share my vision with others. Thank you to Lynn with Appear Photography for these two ‘working shots.

In between detail shots, Jared Platt and I goofed off and had fun with the attendees. Never a dull moment.

I was swept away by this cake by 50/Fifty: The Art of Dessert!

Sometimes my clients do fabulous paper like this! I taught how to style using a touch of floral to make this shot more interesting. Love the rose gold with purple color scheme. Different is beautiful with Atheneum Creative.

I look forward to sharing Part 2 and 3 from this workshop. Stay tuned.
